Budgerigar

Budgerigars are parakeets, referred to informally as “budgies.” They are small, have appealing colors and markings, are charmingly playful, inexpensive, and excellent talkers – all factors that have helped make them the third most popular pet in the world behind cats and dogs! They often live up to 8 years, but life spans of more than 20 years have been reported (the Guinness Book of Records lists a budgie named Charlie who lived to be 29 as the oldest known!). Your budgie should do well on a pelleted diet supplemented by fresh fruit, seeds and vegetables.
