Caique

Caiques are outgoing, small to medium-sized parrots (about 9”), and considered the “clowns” of the bird world. Two species of caiques are typically kept as pets: the white-bellied and black-headed varieties, both athletic and playful. Making sure they have a large enough cage and receive enough playtime is a must for this energetic bird – and be aware, they will work through toys quickly! It is recommended that Caiques, like all parrots, receive a pellet-based diet supplemented with fresh fruits and veggies.
