Devon Rex

With their big ears, impish faces, and curly coats, the Devon Rex charms those who appreciate something a little different in their feline companions. They are known for their playful antics and insatiable curiosity. Their distinct coat results from a gene mutation that causes them to have a curly undercoat with almost no guard hairs. The breed came into existence around Devonshire, England in the late 1950s – the founding father was a stray cat with an unusual curly coat. Development of the breed has led to a wide array of colors and people with cat allergies tend to tolerate this breed more than others.
