Parrotlets

Parrotlets, as their name suggests, are tiny members of the parrot family. They are often as bold, active, and intelligent as their larger cousins, and are vibrantly colored. They are not "screamers," which makes them more suitable for apartment living than many other birds, but they can learn a few words and have playful (sometimes feisty!) personalities -- all traits that combine to make them popular as pets! They can live to be up to 25 or more years old, and do well on a pelleted diet supplemented with fresh vegetables and fruits, and a small amount of seeds.
