A sighthound blessed with height (up to 29”), grace, and endurance, the Azawakh made his appearance in the United States in the 1980s. Highly intelligent and loyal to his family, they are also protective, and care must be used while introducing the Azawakh to strangers. With strong instincts for hunting and guarding, this is a breed that needs regular exercise. Their coat is low-maintenance.
